|PIMJ Groups’ Products Showcase|
Kumba Mi Yabba Launch
In December 2009 micro enterprises/community based groups under the Productive Integration of Micro-enterprises in Jamaica (PIMJ) project showcased their products at JBDC's annual Kumba Mi Yabba Craft Fair held from December 18 to 20. These products, all in various stages of development, were displayed and patron feedback was sought. Samples were provided for tasting and feedback was gathered from the patrons. Overall response was positive as most persons thought the products were of good quality and taste, and indicated their interests in purchasing these when available.
Expo Jamaica 2010 Showcase
At Expo Jamaica 2010, formerly JMA/JEA Expo, JBDC showcased and promoted its suite of services to the public. The various departments, services and projects were highlighted and positioned as a "one stop center" for all business advice and services. The Productive Integration of Micro-enterprises in Jamaica (PIMJ) project was one such project highlighted. Products manufactured by groups under this project were showcased once again as part of the marketing services offered by the JBDC.
Denbigh Agricultural Show 2010
The annual Denbigh Agricultural show was held from July 31 to August 2 in Denbigh, Clarendon. JBDC used its presence there to showcase all the groups involved in the PIMJ project. Each group's products were prominently displayed in their assigned spaces under a large 40x40 tent and patrons were encouraged to browse, buy and interact with the representatives from each group.
From the groups, products are now available through Things Jamaican from Mango Valley Visionaries, Dallas Castle, Nature's Handmade and Northern Youth Artisans.
